Appalachia

We’ve been heading south for the past few days, crawling up and barreling down over the thick mountains of West Virginia and into Kentucky. We’re more or less on our way to Austin, TX, though we plan to take at least a week in Memphis, TN on our way. We began our southward descent from northern Pennsylvania, and when we left the leaves were in the full change of Autumn, but as we get further south and the weather warms, the leaves are actually reverting back to their summertime greens. It feels a little like going back in time.

Last night we boondocked a truck stop in Weston, West Virginia and apparently the hum of the truckers rigs as they came and went throughout the night kept the family awake. I, however, slept like a baby in a poorly ventilated garage. Goodnight.
